River Ilen Anglers Club

The River Ilen Anglers’ Club has been in existence since the mid-fifties and manages a large portion of the river which provides angling for both Salmon and Sea Trout throughout the season.

The river itself is found in beautiful West Cork with its source 500 metres up on Mullaghmesha mountain North-West of Drimoleague and flows for about 33 kilometres southwards through the town of Skibbereen to the sea at Baltimore and the islands of Sherkin and Cape Clear.

Argideen River www.argideenriver.com

The Argideen River is located in south Co. Cork. It rises in the hills north-west of Clonakilty and flows eastwards towards Timoleague before entering the sea at Courtmacsharry Harbour. Although salmon are present, the Argideen is best known as a sea trout fishery. When conditions are favourable, it is believed to be one of the best sea trout destinations in Ireland, with natural stocks improving steadily over the past few years (O’Reilly, 2009).
